If you'll click on this link you'll see that, according to these two deeds recorded 10 February 1840 and 12 June 1841 that Diana must have died between 1840 and 1841 (see the 9th and 10th lines down in the 2nd deed: "Diana...now deceased"). Do you now begin to see the great discrepancies that occur in considering all these clues? (Such as that Diana refused to come West when the Saints left Nauvoo, which was 1846)

Life of Heber C Kimball, by Orson F Whitney, Bookcraft, 1945 printing, page 80. the previous pages tell how in February of 1835 Heber C Kimball and 11 other men were ordained to be apostles in the new Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were soon sent out on proselyting missions. Two of them, Heber C Kimball and Luke S Johnson went on a 5 month mission to the Eastern United States and Canada. On May 5th they were in Dunkirk, NY, then in the ensuing days to Sackett's Harbor, and Mendon. By the 6th of June they were in Lyonstown...(now read page 80 by clicking on the above link).

(Click the above link) This document was created by someone of James Henry's descendants and copied by Gay K Killian in 1960. We don't know who wrote it, but contains some interesting information about James and his background, talents, habits and life history. Some of it should probably be taken with "a grain of salt". It's very interesting what it says about Diana!

Who Diana's parents were NOT...

(Click the above link) Scroll down to pages 900, 901 and 902. Diana's parents were NOT Nehemiah Livingston, Jr and Indiana Foster, perhaps brother and sister-in-law, but NOT her parents. Notice that Nehemiah Livingston, Jr and Indiana Foster married in 1832, about when Diana was bearing children. In numerous genealogical records submitted to the Family History library she is erroneously recorded as daughter of Nehemia,Jr and Indiana.

Nehemiah Sr, not Jr, and sister-in-law to Indiana Foster. I've unsuccessfully tried to make contact with the email addresses here. I assume that E Whitten has passed-on and that her replacement, Bonnielie Lacey,lacey@tca.net or belacey@cox.net has changed her email addresses. I couldn't find Kathy Herington, klhbuz@hctc either. You want to try?

Was Diana's Maiden Name Really Herrick?

The line says: James Ellsworth Oswego Oswego NY David Ellsworth Diana Herrick... which means the name is James Ellsworth, born in Oswego, Oswego County New York, father's name is David Ellsworth, mother's maiden name is Diana Herrick (see 10th line down). This is from Payson Ward records film #26401 "Record of Members, Early to 1860". Click on pictures twice to enlarge view. The lower picture is from the same Payson Ward book, on about page 17, Jas means James, shows that his mother's maiden name was Diana Herrick.
